DR MA'AZU BABAGINDA ALIYU oon (SONDAGI NUPE)
Dr Muuazu Babangida Aliyu OON was born on 12, November, 1954 at Chanchaga local Government Area, Minna, Niger State. While he has his primary Education from 1963-1969 in Minna at central primary school Minna (now IBB primary school. After primary school he proceeded to collage of Art and Arabic studies, Sokoto state in 1970-1974 where he obtained grade two teacher certificate. He attended college of Education Sokoto between 1974-1977 where he graduated with Nigeria certificate of Education (NCE). He attended Bayaro University, Kano between 1980-1983 where he obtained Bachelor of Arts in Education/ English under faculty of Education. Dr Mau'azu did not rest he attended University of Pittsburgh PA. USA between 1986-1989 and obtained PHD Doctor of Philosophy in public and international Affairs.
Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu has a wide working experiences stretching from classroom teacher to Administerator of high repute. He started his teaching career from 1977-1978 as a corper at Jubril martins memorial Grammar school IkoyiLagos. He was a master between 1890-1983 in Niger state ministry of education Minna. And between August,1984 December 1984. He was Assistant lecture, at college Education Sokoto under Education department.
Dr Mu'azu transferred his services to Federal Civil Service Commission and was appointed as Assistant Director and Head of unit, political Affairs office under the office of SGF Presidency, Lagos (in charge of international Affairs and political Analysis). He was Director Admin and Financial Nation Council on inter-Government Relations (NCIR) between 1992-1993. Between 1996-1999 served under the Ministry of Transport as Director (Maritime service) also between June 1999-jan 2001 he was appointed as permanent secretary (CO/AO) Deputy secretary to the Federal Executive Council in Feb 2001 to 31th Dec 2003 he was permanent secretary Ministry of Federal Capital Territory. And between 2003 to 2005 he was deployed to National planning Commission as permanent Secretary. He was permanent Secretary in Federal Ministry of Transport between 2005-2007.
On 26th June, 2007 to 16th February 2007. He was deployed to Establishment and pensions (OHCSF) as permanent Secretary on 29, May, 2007 he became Executive Governor of Niger state. Dr Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu ion Talban Minna (Sondangi Nupe) attended and presented papers at about twenty two Conferences and Seminars of which nineteen were in over seas and only three were in Nigeria.
Dr Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu has done various community services as from 1975 to date starting as president of Student Union Government as College of Education Sokoto. He was Member of National Negotiaing team, Nigeria labour congress,lagos. He was Chairman, Nigeria Labour congress Niger state Council Minna. President pan African Association University of Pittsburgh PA USA between 1985-1988. Chairman parent teacher Association Funta Nursery and Primary School, Abuja. Member and chairman Projects Physical Planning and work Implementation, MEEF Minna, Niger State from 2004 to date he is the President of Polo Club, Minna, Niger State.
He has been Board Member of about thirty one Boards, since 1980 to date. From 1980-1983 he was a Board Member Kaduna polytechnic Governing Council Boards. From 2004-2005 he was a member of Wages Salaries and Emoluments Relativity panel, under the Presidency. Member Board of Governor, Centre of Democratic Studies, Bwari Abuja. Between 2002-2003 he was a Chairman Sub-Committee to draw up programmed on Nation security Seminars in 2006. He has many honours and Award from various organization these includes; honorary doctors of law (honoris cause) by University of Ayo Akwa ibon state 22/5/10, Honorary Doctor of public Administration(Honoris Causa) by Abia state University Uturu, Abia State 27/2/10,) Excellency Award by security watch Africa Magazine in Accra Ghana (28/10/09) Distinguished performance Award by Chartered institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria (6/20/09) Honary Doctor of Technology (Honoris Causa) by Federal University of Technology, Minna (21st February, 2010), Excellency Award, by Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association at it's 45th Congress, Owerri, IMO state (21/10/08). He received an award from National Mirror as Governor of the year 2007. NTA Abeokuta Book Fair Gold Award to the Chief Servant for most outstanding Contribution to the growth of Education and youth Development in Niger State. He has five traditional Titles which includes
1. AGBA yewa of the source by His Royal Majesty the Onni of Ife, Oba sijuade.
2. BADOKOSHI AGAIE by the Emir of Agaie HRH Alh. muhammad Kudu.
3. SODANGIN NUPE by the Estu Nupe HRH (DR) Yahaya Abubakar CFR.
